I'm going to continue punting on #ActivityPub support for #Koype until I see more stuff from @cwebber and @kaniini on their respective approaches to ActivityPub. I want #Koype to interop nicely but I also don't want to be behind on spec implementations and have no problems being "bleeding" edge.

#WriteFreely is a free open federated blogging platform. It has a minimalist approach so that readers concentrate on the text.
It federates with #ActivityPub so you can follow blogs through Mastodon etc.
Existing Write Freely instances you can sign up at:

Hey developers & ActivityPub enthusiasts!
@GetTogetherComm is a free open alternative to MeetUp.com.
The lead developer needs help with implementing federation, either coding or better documentation about ActivityPub.
There's an open issue for it here:
https://github.com/GetTogetherComm/GetTogether/issues/60
There's been discussion but no code contributions yet.
Can you help?
(It would be *so* cool to get this kind of service federated, imagine every town having its own instance :blobaww: )

Prismo is an open federated alternative to sites like Reddit or Hacker News.
It's still under development, but the first instance is online here:
It's been in closed beta for a while, but Prismo now has open sign-ups for the first time.
You can sign up at:

To be frank; I probably wouldn't make another RSS feed reader. I'm going to try to reboot https://git.jacky.wtf/fediverse/activitydesk using Rust and Qt.
Yes, another #ActivityPub client. But hopefully, I can make it open core.

Things I know I'd want to use / open to contributing to:
* a dedicated #ActivityPub vlogging platform (think single-user, multiple-channel/feed in likes of Vimeo, YouTube etc) with mobile clients
* federated podcasting platform similar to simplecast.com with mobile clients and plugs to silos
* a federated music scrobbling tool / option with clients
* a general purpose social reader
oh + all support nomadic identities (DiD), p2p file storage, #Microformats2, #Webmention, #WebSub

My goal? To have a "simple"/flexible #ActivtyStreams + #ActivityPub library for #Elixir so I can make toy services on top of it.
Like a polling platform that can federate! Or even a simpler scrobbling platform. All of the actions are there in AP and one can define new ones if ever needed.

Now looking at the #ActivityPub spec; things make a lot more sense in terms of resolving collections (those are those timelines!) and what not. This is probably the most 'important' part of the spec if you're attempting to fetch information and the like about a user using AP only: https://www.w3.org/TR/activitypub/#actor-objects

#activitypub #activitypubdev #apdev
(this is more about ActivityStreams)
So I refuse to 'define' a type at build-time for each object/link type. I'm going to resolve it on start from the schema and use that for 'assertion' and property discovery.
(This is for an Elixir project).
I think this approach would also allow for automatic support of custom types too. I'd have to figure out a good caching mechanism (maybe relying on Cache headers + HTTP?) to make things easier.

Got a few options here:
* Implement an #ActivityPub / #ActivityStreams library from scratch. I did this lightly in C++ for ActivityDesk.
* Extract logic that'd go stale from @pleromafeed - bad idea since that'll get out of sync fast
* Work to refactor bits of logic from Pleroma - now I'd have to work on Pleroma code and this library to keep them in sync.
* Forgo #ActivityPub altogether and look into using http://fed.brid.gy/

@krainboltgreene I say that not to be snooty btw! I want to help that discovery process a bit.
So Mastodon does a few things but namely what allows i to communicate with other things like Pleroma, PeerTube, PixelFed, Funkwhale et al is #ActivityPub and #ActivityStreams. Everything else is out of the band and part of its "app" experience.
