@61 Well as I said ( https://en.osm.town/@rory/101555870178652871 ). I really like the idea, and would love a (more) distributed/p2p #OSM. But I don't really know *how* to do it, nor enough about #ActivityPub (now).

@Antanicus I would really really like to see some way to "decentralise" #OpenStreetMap (I think there's "POSM"?)

But I'm unsure really *how* to do it, or *how* #ActivityPub fits into it, or how to make AP work with #OSM. (Partially I don't know enough about AP).

Still working on my recap/thoughts from FOSDEM (namely the #ActivityPub panel but also a few others).

@cj #ActivityPub is a specification defined by a (self-)governing body at the W3C - a single authority (of sorts).

Yeah we need XEP (or APEP) for #ActivityPub. Reading http://archive.is/R1vSQ (the current site is 502'ing) over is making me want to do something like for a bunch of things.

The #IndieWeb passively does this by way of `link` information. You can use it to detect if a site supports #Webmention, #Microsub and #Microsub to name some things.

The demo I'm working on at this hackathon is for a secure way of hosting content so that if your instance goes down, your content can survive, and if your content becomes popular, the whole network can help balance the work of hosting it. #activitypub #wizardstower2019

#Osada is an ActivityPub-compatible social network which is sort of like the Swiss army knife of the Fediverse.

It has lots of optional extra features including wikis, file storage, blogs, photo albums, calendars etc.

@djmoch I don't know if #ActivityPub could do that (or visa versa since #Micropub is more generic than ActivityPub).

Micropub's also more focused about client to server interactions whereas ActivityPub's that and a whole breadth of other things.

ActivityPub is a federated/decentralized protocol.

It's the perfect balance between centralization and distributed networks. #activityPub

Looking back and forth at some recent discussion, I'm getting thoroughly convinced that punting _hard_ on #ActivityPub might actually be good for my health.

This breaks a notion in the #ActivityPub spec that Link and Object types are disjoint (have nothing in common). They do - they're both in JSON and definable with a context/schema.
