I am going to setup pixelfed.art as a single user pixelfed instance for my 9 year old nieces art. I will manage her account with my brother.

She has been my #1 fan, and was so happy when I made her drawing the thumbnail for the art discover category on pixelfed.social.

They came over today and she asked me to update the art thumbnail with a new drawing she quickly made. After I posted it to pixelfed she was ecstatic that it had 2 likes in a few minutes. 😁

@2alin Speaking to point #1, if you're using a Chromium based browser or Firefox, I'd suggest trying CollapsedMastodon. I just got it a day or so ago, and I've been really loving it!

Some of the behind-the-scenes details are truly bizarre. There was a song on the radio? And it hit #1 on the Canadian charts?

For a centrist democrat, I do like Kamala Harris' work since she became a congressperson. I'm further left than that so not my #1 choice but she's done the "centrist democrat" job pretty well as far as that position goes.

If Kamala could reverse time and select "defense lawyer" rather than "prosecutor" I think she'd be a 100% shoo-in for the centrist democrat side of the democratic primary. In the meanwhile I guess that'll be an uphill battle.

oh also related to #1, if you're a jerk you're stunting your talent. that's not to say you aren't talented, but you will miss out on critical chances to collaborate because people won't want to work with you

In a weird way, you can put "became the #1 rated restaurant, had to close because of vast hordes of foodies" on the same list as:

- becoming a meme and getting random marriage proposals from strangers
- getting doxxed/SWATed/brigaded/etc
- your kickstarter campaign goes viral and now you have 10x the funds you expected, so you have to build something even grander

The internet is like a gravity distortion beam that momentarily focuses everyone's attention on one thing.
