Also I'm basically treating HTML like XML, only my user agent stylesheet cares about the different elements so far. And that (mostly) extends to the HTML parser I'm using.

@guephren I'm thinking of two options:

1) PixelCamo (wip media proxy for pixelfed)

2) Delay the search results until the thumbnail is generated

Will probably be #2 and then #1 once ready.

@strypey @tootbrute @dirk Design leads development, development informs design. Everyone on your team is a designer whether they know it or not. Separation of “engineering” vs “make it shiny, pixel pusher” is #1 reason things are badly designed. Your database schema will effect the usability of your app. If you’re starting with that instead of starting with the experience and ending with that, there’s no amount of aesthetic patches that will make your app usable.

So Pop!_OS 19.04 drops icons for third-party applications and suddenly my experience is an inconsistent mess of crappy icons. They had the right idea earlier. The #1 problem with desktop Linux today isn’t missing features or performance or anything like that, it’s consistency.

Article 13 and Article 11 both passed the European Parliament. I'm sad, but the next step is fighting this in the courts, and in the national implementations of the law.
