@louisoft01 @Elizafox #1, it's still there but degraded functionality (followers only and direct messages will not go over OStatus, due to privacy concerns with that)
#2, Pleroma is natively ActivityPub (it also has OStatus for backwards compatibility with GNU social and Mastodon 1.5 and older)
@thufir Shocking coming from a company (Mozilla Corporation) that takes billions from the world’s #1 surveillance capitalist (Alphabet, Inc./Google) to enable them to spy on its users by default.
I will make a ":pixelfed: #1 fan" t-shirt for our biggest fan kaniini. We appreciate all you do to help spread the word!
Kids are adorable.
My 8 year old niece asked me earlier "are you going to be rich after you finish pixelfed?". I had to explain to her that its free and open source.
She is my #1 fan 😁
@melunaka @ElfLord Yeah unfortunately I don't think there's an easy way I can support this. When you switch instances, all the status/account IDs change (e.g. account #1 on one instance is different from account #1 on another instance).
So, we ignore S3 at first, and I'm pretty sure Jekyll can do what I want.
That leaves payment processing/user access control as hurdle #1, a super basic UI for editing markdown files, and a way to manage themes.
From a Minimum Viable perspective, I feel like this could be done quickly and simply.
What am I missing? Surely something.
I have time. And I'm not in a bad position.
Things would just be so much easier if I could go ahead and get the gig lined up, you know?
But yeah, I'm thinking that I should take #1, even for $30k less than number two, or at least that #1 should be my top contender until I hear back from the secret numbers 3 and 4.
The plan appears to be:
- Sell car #1 (an '08 Smart ForTwo in poor condition.)
- Keep Cars #2 (a '12 scion iQ) and #3 (a '13 Prius C)
- Buy a '16 Nissan Frontier
- Drive #2 and #4 to GA with stuff in tow.
- Drive #4 back from GA, leave #2 in GA for a friend to drive for a few weeks.
- Drive #3 and #4 to GA with all the things we own.
- Eventually, maybe sell #2 and put the money from it in to #3 and #4 which we will still owe on for ~2 years.
I'm not endorsing HN, but I am endorsing being #1 on HN ;)
Wow hey, ActivityPub is #1 on Hacker News right now
