Finally reconnected #Tooter on my Jolla with my #Fediverse account. Took long enough, eh.

You know what would be swell? If connecting a client to an account worked by scanning a qr code. #FeatureIdea

@jamie Personally I recommend liberal use of the mute button. It keeps my feeds pretty reasonable.

Some people like the raw-unfiltered nature of the #Fediverse though.

#Osada is an ActivityPub-compatible social network which is sort of like the Swiss army knife of the Fediverse.

It has lots of optional extra features including wikis, file storage, blogs, photo albums, calendars etc.

@alexcleac I discover some pretty neat folks through boosts, so I don't turn off boosts altogether. It's just like pruning.

But I also follow 2,000 people so it helps to whittle out the stuff I'm not into.

I do get the unfettered rawness of the unfiltered #Fediverse has it's appeal too.

I notice a lot of nice people I follow boost some pretty nasty things. My timeline has substantially improved by turning off boosts of a lot of people I follow.

Also filtering out the Twitter run-off helps a lot too.

One thing about being in the #Fediverse is that you need to maintain your own timelines. Ain't no algorithm gonna sort that out for you here.

@00dani That creates lock-in (in the sense that people aim to use Mastodon as the reference API for doing this in the #Fediverse); which isn't healthy for the ecosystem. There's a Client-to-Server API but no one has implemented it AFAIK @noorul
