    It's been fascinating watching #Switter land so quickly in the #Fediverse as the transfer of a semi-coherent community with pre-existing ties from other platforms to Masto.

    An ongoing convo w/i #SocialCoop is whether we should grow extensively (support other communities in adopting the #coop model) or intensively (grow social.coop from a limited-scale co-op movement community instance to a mass instance).

    Switter seems like an opportunity to explore the extensive approach...

    @deadsuperhero @strypey and yet it *worked*, and made it possible to federate with the rest of #Fediverse.

    It was Mastodon devs going out of their way to stay compatible.

    As opposed to Diaspora devs just saying they're not interested in that kind of thing.

    @dansup not sure if it's a good idea to create new solutions instead to improve existing ones.

    IMHO in that way we never got nothing finished.

    Maybe not, but experience told us that after some time, the new project will be also unfinished and no one takes care of it.

    We must try to join efforts, not to diversify it.

    Hi! people at !fediverse

    Until recent dates we have a reference to federated GNU Social nodes at fediverse.org.

    As that domain it’s no longer available, I’ve recovered last update at Wayback Machine at archive.org (2/4/2018) and managed a little to publish most data here.

    On that date there was 228 federated nodes identified. 123 are still active at end of Mars 2018, 49 with open registration.

    Not sure about every data here, I’ve only checked wich nodes are active.

    At least we can have a reference to know active nodes and to search for accounts and people to follow
