     @strypey I would need to log-in to my old Diaspora account. I used to be a pretty avid user.

     However, I've been asking Diaspora devs to implement OStatus and/or properly document Diaspora protocol for years and they just wouldn't have it. Their position? "We're the biggest, others can implement our protocol by reading the code", pretty much.

     Schadenfreude is strong in this one.

     @strypey @deadsuperhero and that's exactly the broader point I've been making for years.

     If the FLOSS social networks remain fragmented, we will never make a dent on failbooks and birdsites of this world, *because* of Metcalfe's law.

     If they start federating with each other and make sure they keep doing so, there's a chance.

     Diaspora clearly wants to stay in their little corner. That's very unfortunate.
