It's a list of people to follow on the #Fediverse, organised by category. You can follow people individually, or follow entire category lists.

You can add yourself to the list by sending a message to one of the site admins. Remember to include which category/categories you want to be listed in.

@grainloom Truth be told, we should consider looking at family friendly options for the #Fediverse.

Perhaps a sub-federation of family friendly instances that are more heavily moderated and careful about which instances they federate with.

Admittedly not being a parent, I know very little about how to go about that.

If I move pixelfed from github, it will be to a federated git host. I spent a few hours working on this old project 😉 #activitypub #fediverse

#Friendica, the open federated alternative to #Facebook, is due to get #ActivityPub support towards the end of the year, in its 2018.11 update.

You can already follow Friendica users through Mastodon using an older standard. For example, the official blog is here:

Dear Fediverse,

Soon, some venture capitalist will put $5 million into a startup that offers free fediverse accounts with unlimited storage, etc.

Unless every other instance instantly blocks such a service from Day 1, you can kiss your fediverse goodbye and say hello to a new Gmail. Once network effects kick in, they will make the rules.

It _can_ happen here but you have an opportunity to kill it before it does.

@mrkapowski @thomasfuchs #Mastodon and the #fediverse already are something useful for 10,000-100,000 active users. It hasn't been empty here once during the last 2 years and it wasn't lacking anything.
