@GuppeGroups behind the scenes, I switched to a #Vue SPA for the front end. Their CLI service made bootstrapping the web app a breeze, and the Vue router is pretty neat - still able to serve both the #ActivityPub json profile and the web page off the same url with their use of the history API to support deep linking in the SPA

Of course they have to platform-lock it and add creepy spying capabilities since capitalists are constrained by the profit motive and can't be as flexible and agile as communist projects can

Goddamnit. Facebook is coming hard at controlling the next iteration of social web to make it another societally toxic ad revenue cash cow.
We all know how much better the fediverse is over corporate social media, but we may be too late to overcome it in this generation of the web.

@Olm_e I've talked with hubs devs some, and they said they were trying to address complaints that that full infrastructure was too difficult to replicate, so I think the platform-like capabilities were added to encourage instances by by reducing the setup friction, and they do document their infrastructure and encourage wholly independent servers. I'm secretly working on integrating #ActivityPub with #Hubs to make it more decentralized and support consistent user identity across hubs instances

Also apparently I'm writing the first #NodeJS #Express #MongoDB implementation of #ActivityPub because somehow that doesn't exist yet and hell no I'm not learning another language

I'm working on a new project to add "groups" functionality to the #fediverse. It will work entirely via federation protocols, so you'll keep using your existing #Mastodon or other #ActivityPub app account and join groups by following them.

I'm so excited to present my work on #Fediverse-wide hashtag federation, search, and subscription at #ActivityPubConf.

A number of people have asked how to make Wordpress blogs federate with the Fediverse (including Mastodon and Pixelfed).

You can do this by adding the ActivityPub for Wordpress plugin from here:

When the plugin is installed, it allows anyone on the Fediverse to follow your Wordpress blog.

It's still in beta, the plugin's developer is @pfefferle
