@Olm_e I've talked with hubs devs some, and they said they were trying to address complaints that that full infrastructure was too difficult to replicate, so I think the platform-like capabilities were added to encourage instances by by reducing the setup friction, and they do document their infrastructure and encourage wholly independent servers. I'm secretly working on integrating #ActivityPub with #Hubs to make it more decentralized and support consistent user identity across hubs instances
