I live in a small rural city known for oil, farming and cowboys. None of my friends know how to code or are interested in open source. No hacker spaces here either.

The fediverse has introduced me to a diverse group of people that I wouldn't have met otherwise. I've made a few friends here and I'm really glad to be a part of this. #fediverse
