@sheogorath Mozilla’s top brass isn’t innocent in this either. They knew exactly what they are doing and the role they play by accepting hundreds of millions of dollars from Google and other surveillance capitalists every year.
@aral I think Mozilla sold it's own user base in multiple ways there.
First of all as default search engine, which means Google can collect all this user data and on the other hand the Firefox users by providing them with a search engine of a competitor which of course does marketing for its own product.
Seems like no one thought about the second part as being a problem at all.
