Hmm, OcuBook just announced the same social #VR spaces idea I've been talking about making by combining #Mozilla #Hubs with #ActivityPub: @ImmersSpace
Of course they have to platform-lock it and add creepy spying capabilities since capitalists are constrained by the profit motive and can't be as flexible and agile as communist projects can

Sheogorath π¦ (sheogorath)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Sep-2019 11:53:58 CEST Sheogorath π¦ To be honest, the way of using `use-application-dns.net` being blocked by **unauthenticated**, regular DNS servers is the worst idea one could come up with.
It makes it trivial to perform a downgrade attack on any network and makes a lot of the promises DoH by default provides useless.
There are good reasons why we don't allow downgrades on other protocols, so why suddenly on HTTP?
The answer is as always "we don't want to break [wrongly setup] things".

Sheogorath π¦ (sheogorath)'s status on Saturday, 07-Sep-2019 09:22:08 CEST Sheogorath π¦ So #Mozilla is about to enable DoH by default for all US users:
https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2019/09/06/whats-next-in-making-dns-over-https-the-default/
I'm really happy with the idea behind DoH and the fact that we get properly secured client DNS but at the same time I consider it a problem when this is all done through one Vendor. DNS is one of the few systems that are still distributed right now for both, client resolvers and backend.
Maybe Mozilla just has to make sure that there are more vendors ready to work with #DoH before rolling out defaults?

Aral Balkan (aral)'s status on Saturday, 04-May-2019 22:00:24 CEST Aral Balkan So #Mozilla fixed the #Firefox certificate expiration issue that disabled all your extensions. All you have to do to get the fix is to check:
β Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla
β Allow Firefox to install and run studies
:gargron:
(Donβt forget to turn these off right after your extensions show up again. I restarted the browser but not sure if thatβs necessary.)

rysiek β (rysiek)'s status on Sunday, 31-Mar-2019 14:53:56 CEST rysiek β @LibertyPaulM sure, but there's a lot to be said about #Mozilla needing to find a niche for #Firefox.
Right now Chrome is eating their cake, and there's nothing thatc an stop that -- because there isn't really any difference in functionality or basic philosophy of these two browsers. Thus, the one with better marketing (i.e. Chrome) wins.
And one available niche, one that got Firefox to be popular in the first place, are FOSS fundamentalists and privacy freaks.
