Yo! If you're in #Oakland (or nearby) pull up to the first #IndieWeb meetup happening at Farley's East! https://gath.io/icWJGxDzC
more info: https://v2.jacky.wtf/post/7c62128b-f0af-4e63-a85e-6bda2fbf4a34
I'm aiming to do this every two weeks so no biggie if you miss THE FIRST ONE (I will side-eye you tho lol)
Just wrote https://v2.jacky.wtf/post/need-mobile-indieweb about some grievances I have with the #IndieWeb
tl;dr: we need a mobile app developer with an eye for modern Material Design practices as well as delivering a custom theme.
y'all I wanna be on here but if I do, it might be via my own site and my projects (like into the fediverse again). I'm SUPER focused on making things work well in the #indieweb as well as paying bills soooooooooooooooooo lol
If you wanna follow my posts regarding the #IndieWeb, namely the #IndieWebSummit, it'd be better for you to follow @v2.jacky.wtf!
I'm saying this while I build my own stuff, lol. I've looked and I haven't found any:
- #IndieWeb-first CMS (https://koype.net)
- #IndieAuth delegatable authentication services for easier dev integration (https://fortress.black.af)
- a #native open social networking platform (https://activitydesk.black.af)
I aim to take my own advice - makes it strongly strong when I share it.
side-note: we need to have a serious audit / checklist of the authz + authn of the options we have for the #indieweb / #fediverse so we can give new projects / dev GOOD suggestions
That said, I'd want to do this with people. Like maybe a talk show similar to this This Week in Tech (https://twit.tv/shows/this-week-in-tech). People highlighting things that they've seen on the #fediverse / #indieweb and just talking shop.
how do we safely and securely federate / share moderation data? I'm getting close to a MVP on how to do some prelim "following" of people in the land of the #indieweb and the first thing that's coming to mind is how do I _block_ someone?
yo so for the #fediverse heads who wanna get into #indieweb stuff too, we got a summit coming up! https://2019.indieweb.org/summit
(it'll be in Portland but it'll be available online as well in real time - hopefully but usually lol)
bruh I'm stuck lol
so in the #indieweb landscape of things, the 'simplest' way to find someone is to use their feeds (h-feed, RSS, ATOM, JSON Feed) and use that to build timelines. The thing is, I don't know _how_ realtime that could actually be.
I've also finally accepted that I'm building a content management system that has #IndieWeb logic as a first class citizen (and potentially others).
For those who can make it, I recommend pulling up to the #IndieWeb summit in Portland! If you can't make it, we'll be simucasting in our chat rooms (access to all). https://aaronparecki.com/2019/03/25/4/indieweb-summit
@June @c0debabe but the tl;dr is that, a single tenant Web engine for being on the fediverse / #indieweb. I'm experimenting with it at https://v2.jacky.wtf. I've been punting on ActivityPub support b/c of privacy concerns but there's work in the space being done and looked to
me watching someone leave the #Fediverse / #IndieWeb for silos
#dweb #indieweb grows to a solid TEN event locations worldwide:
Nürnberg
Karlsruhe
Virtual EU
Accra
London
Nottingham
New Haven
Guadalajara
Seattle
San Francisco
https://wiki.mozilla.org/WeeklyUpdates/2019-03-18#Homebrew_Website_Club
We just completed the #IndieWeb online homebrew club - where people from all around the world were able to do a 2 day hackathon and demo stuff they were working on!
I got a prototype of 'groups' with a feed of their promoted updates going over at https://v2.jacky.wtf/groups/iwc2019online
A persona for private posts (in the #IndieWeb)
I had made a list of things I wanted to see in the #IndieWeb / #fediverse on here but I 100% lost it.
@katastrophe At best, feel free to pop into https://chat.indieweb.org/dev/ to talk shop re: dev stuff and #IndieWeb. There's also https://indieweb.org/WordPress + https://indieweb.org/Drupal @fluffy
