Matt Noyes (mattnoyes)'s status on Monday, 30-Sep-2019 17:20:23 CEST Matt Noyes Turns out that @luisrazeto is being blocked by #Facebook because of a user who constantly reports his blog posts as offensive. The process of protesting and getting the block lifted is slower than the process of getting a site blocked...
One of his blogs, about #SolidarityEconomy and #cooperativism is here: https://economiadesolidaridad.blogspot.com/2019/09/

switching.social (switchingsocial)'s status on Thursday, 12-Sep-2019 19:00:18 CEST switching.social Excellent interview with Roger McNamee, one of the early backers of Facebook and Zuckerberg's mentor:
He now deeply regrets what Facebook has become:
"The business model of converting lives into data, and then using that data to manipulate behaviour... that's just morally wrong."

Joshua Judson Rosen (rozzin)'s status on Thursday, 15-Aug-2019 04:37:28 CEST Joshua Judson Rosen I think I learned something about #Facebook today: people use it because it has #groups like !GNUsocial! Well, sort-of? @palmella tells me that, *unlike* GNU social groups, Facebook heavily moderates (modulates?) the delivery of group-posts to users' home streams in ways that don't necessarily have obvious explanations.... -

R (rory)'s status on Friday, 02-Aug-2019 08:53:25 CEST R Looks like #Facebook trampling over #OpenStreetMap, and dumping poor data into the commons, is getting some attention and write ups.

R (rory)'s status on Friday, 02-Aug-2019 08:47:56 CEST R @schestowitz Thankfully once the data gets into #OpenStreetMap, #Facebook doesn't get anything.
TBH the main problem is FB just ignoring what #OSM wants.

switching.social (switchingsocial)'s status on Tuesday, 30-Jul-2019 14:25:25 CEST switching.social If you have Facebook "like" buttons embedded on your website, it could make you liable for breaking GDPR privacy laws, even if it's Facebook doing the illegal stuff:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/07/29/eu_gdpr_facebook_like_button/
You can protect your site from legal liability (and protect your users' privacy) by removing all Facebook like buttons.
Please tell your employers/organisations about this ruling, it may help convince them that Facebook is toxic (or at least that embedded like buttons are toxic).

Of course, the real problem is that Facebook has the power to sensor for millions of users. #decentralize please!
